The WISI
TOPLINE II is the latest
state of the art headend.
The unique concept of signal
processing provides a superb
signal performance at the
output of the channel processor.
Microprocessor in each module
controls all functions of
the module. This concept
allows stand-alone operation
of the modules without the
base unit OV 50A. In combination
with the base unit OV 50A
the output level after combining
10 channels is 110dBuV.
The base unit OV 50A consist
of the painted aluminium
made chassis and the power
supply / output booster
module. Optionally available
is a lockable cover panel.
OV 50A can be directly wall
mounted or with the 19"
rack mounting kit OV 99
direct rack mounted.
The high efficient switch
mode power supply unit provides
the required power for analogue
as well later on digital
processing modules. The
integrated push-pull booster
amplifier provides an output
level of 110dBuV
with 10 modules inserted
and combined.
The multiplex output level
can be adjusted up to -10dB
with an adjustable attenuator
located at the front of
the power supply/booster
module. The multiplex output
level can be checked uninterrupted
at the test socket (20dB).
The function of the DC voltages
are indicated by three LED
at the front of the module.
All in-and output terminals
are F-female sockets. The
output voltages are present
at the voltage rails of
the base unit. The TOPLINE
Headend II in combination
with the headend-controller
OV 51A can be remotely programmed
and controlled in combination
with the BARCO Rosa NMS
Soft- and hardware.
Description of the booster
The amplifier has two identical
inputs for the left and
right module rows of the
basic unit OV 50A. The sum
signal of the two inputs
is looped out before the
actual amplifier in order
to permit additional signal
processing or the combination
of signals.
The amplifier is a push-pull
amplifier in GaAs technology
in order to obtain optimal
power loss figures at the
maximum RF output voltage.
In order to maintain the
C/N values, the level adjuster
(10 dB) is placed between
the stages. It can be operated
from the front panel of
the power supply unit. The
gain (27dB) was selected
so that all intermodulation
products are >60dB away
from the signal level (110dBuV)
when the unit is fully equipped.
The output signal is also
available at a test output
(-20dB). The LNC voltage
of 13.5 V / 1 A is connected
via two F-sockets to the
DM distributor of the basic
unit. LEDs on the front
panel of the power supply
unit, above the booster,
indicate the presence of
the supply voltages 5VDC
/ 12VDC / 13.5VDC. All RF
connections use F plugs
and sockets. |
